√ Walking - discover trails in Argyll Forest Park

Cowalfest Walking and Arts Festival held each October is one of the largest and most varied walking festivals in Scotland, with more than 70 walks led by expert and knowledgeable walk leaders including National Park and Forestry Commission Rangers.  See also Walkhighlands website.

 

√ Cycling - an abundance of cycling trails and longer  routes can be found in Argyll Forest Park or further afield - see map my ride

 

√ Adventure activities

Benmore outdoor education centre for individuals, families or groups wanting quality instruction in a variety of outdoor activities .

Quadmania is about 4 miles from the cottage. Trails by quad-bike and other adventures like kayaking on secluded lochs, exploring ancient gorges, clay-shooting, abseiling or rock climbing!

 

√ Fishing -  check out the Dunoon and District Angling Club for  details of a wide range of loch and river fishing

 

√ Wildlife watching - Red squirrels, seabirds, deer, otters and the rest. Don’t forget your binoculars. Check out the Forestry Commission for excellent guides to the local wildlife

 

√ Swimming - Riverside Swim and Health Centre, Dunoon.  Facilities include a 25m, 6 lane pool (with 40m flume), and a teaching pool. It also has a Health Suite with sauna, spa, steam room and relaxation area, multi-purpose gym and the Riverside's Café
