The Cowal Peninsula - one of Scotland’s undiscovered treasures

Strathspey Holiday Cottage, near Dunoon, Argyll - sleeps 2

‘We spent a fantastic 5 days at your beautiful cottage. We just thought we’d drop you a line to say it was one of the best cottages we’ve stayed at – well stocked, beautifully decorated and furnished as well as situated!  It makes a change as many self catering properties are so old fashioned and run down.  Many thanks also for the information on the things to do and see in the area.  We really didn’t want to leave! I think we were quite lucky with the weather – just one day of rain!’

‘The holiday was great… very comfortable. I would emphasise the sea fishing potential from outside the cottage more as well as the potential for bike riding. For those interested in trees like me the place is like Jurassic park, especially Benmore which is beautiful.’

‘Excellent cottage very well equipped. Enjoyed watching the ferries and boats from the sunroom. Weather was especially kind to us…. No rain! And a fair bit of sun. Lovely walks and stunning scenery.  Lucky enough to see 2 red squirrels.  Superb holiday.  Benmore garden and Invercottage restaurant were great.’

‘Our third stay at Strathspey, but hopefully not our last!  Weather ‘not the best’ but therapy value of the area unchanged – thoroughly enjoyed Open Galleries Weekend – visited several studios.  Thanks again.’

‘Really enjoyed your cottage very much, has everything.  The changing views of the loch delightful.  Weather wonderful, sunny and warm… saw three red squirrels in Benmore Gardens.   Puck’s Glen walk enchanting.  Highlight of the week was having lunch with seals on the Isle of Bute.’

‘We have really enjoyed our stay – lots of thoughtful touches in a very comfortable cottage.  Unexpectedly good weather allowed us out on the bikes every day.  Enjoyed Puck’s Glen, the gallery at Blairmore and dinner at the Coylet Inn.  To keep our teenagers happy we also tried quadbiking for the first time – great fun.’

‘Great cottage – everything we needed and more.  Great location.  We enjoyed lots of meals at the Whistlefield Inn.  Lovely walks at Ardentinny, Puck’s Glen and Glenbranter (especially the Halloween witches walk!)’

‘It’s a lovely cottage in a lovely place.  We had a really nice stay here.  It’s a very comfortable cottage because we had everything we needed and more (sunny day all the time!).  So, stand, relax and enjoy.’

‘Lovely cottage with great views from the conservatory watching the ferries whilst having breakfast.  The weather was kind to us and we travelled around the whole of the area.  Breathtaking scenery everywhere we went.  The highlight was Inveraray Castle, a must place to visit.’
